ASC Retreat & The Temasek League Series 2

ASC recently competed in the Temasek League Series 2 Against the other P10 clubs with Guest Appearances by Zulfadli from last year's AS Champion Team. The 2 days of intense competition ended with a wonderful 4D3N Retreat at Aloha Loyang Poolside Terrace.

In a flash, t'was the final week of the first Semester Holidays and with vigour, this year's ASC Committee fielded their finest players for Temasek League Series 2 Street Soccer & Captain's Ball play-offs. The first day of competition saw the ASC Greens duke it out, in what can only be described as a "Medieval Street Soccer Match" against Union, IITSC, CSC & DSC. The attendance was disappointing but the ASC team did not disappoint leading the table with only one loss against DSC before their final match against Union. The ASC Greens, consisted of Amjad Adabi, Clement Chia, Kenny Tang, Kevin Zephaniah Tan, Muhammad Firdaus, Pang Junwei, Qhairil Mundzir, Roslee Roslan, Syimir Ismail and guest appearance by Zulfadli Waled of last year's AS Champion Team. The final match against Union saw a united and spectacular performance by the ASC Greens leading 8-3 against Union, deep into the game. With the bulk of the goals being scored by the Adabi & Chia duo-team and an ever-so-scintillating performance by Waled throughout the league, the ASC Greens decide to take a back-seat towards the end of the final match and let the nominal roll, roll.

With a rolling substitution, the ASC Greens decided to substitute all their players in the final minutes of the game. With 1 minute to spare, Zephaniah decides to allow an eager Mundzir to have chance to play against Union after an earlier substitution. 20 seconds on the whistle blows and to the dismay of the ASC a violation had been committed by the Greens. The ASC Greens had fielded and additional player out of the original 7 limited to each match.

The game grounded to a halt as Jeremy, Sports Club's President stumbled into a dilemma over the judging. With only a few minutes left to the end of the game, the ASC Greens decided to play on regardless of the scoring system. The game ended with a final attempt by Qhairil Mundzir which went wide off the post. The final judgement converted ASC's 8-3 victory to Union into an 0-3 forfeit to misfortune of some. Though some players were upset over the scoring most of the Greens accepted the score as they had overlooked the technicality. With the score holding at 0-3. IITSC led the pack coming in first place, followed by Union with the ASC Greens coming in 3rd.

Day 2 of the Temasek League Series 2, saw the ASC Greens fielding almost half the ASC Commitee for the Captain's Ball league, it was so much so that it becomes impractical for me to type out all the names! The fierce competition, yet again, saw a united ASC against the other P10 Clubs.

Man of the Captain's Ball League for ASC Greens was none other than Soon Weizhi. The NSman completely obliterated the opponents' attack during every single game. With his towering height and astronomical reach, the combat capable defender belittled every goal man who stood on the chair behind him. Not only was he capable at defending the goal but he blocked every advance towards his ball possession with his signature "butt-defend" which remains his trademark move up till today. The League Series 2 Captains Ball ended with a similar victory in top position by IITSC followed by Union in 2nd and ASC Greens in 3rd.

The remaining days after the Temasek League Series 2 was celebrated by ASC with their 4D3N Retreat at Aloha Loyang. Renting out a double storey pool-side terrace, the ASC family had bonding sessions among the members with games, Xbox games, table-top games and the occasional walk-around-Pasir-ris-park-until-you-get-tired-and-end-up-returning-to-the-chalet-to-sleep. The Retreat ended with an all-out BBQ night on the final night where members mingled and celebrated what was left of their holidays.

I'm not saying anything but... a picture paints a thousand words.....dental advertisement anybody?

Kenny decides to demonstrate how effective his preferred brand of armpit deodorant is to the rest of the Committee members.

Little does Qai know that his mahjong-foiling plans would soon be over as Shi Ying creeps up behind him to pour hot Milo down his pants.

It is a rare condition but falling asleep with your eyes open occurs in 1 in every 500 000 Asian men, right Shawn?

Syimir & Junwei love to start fires with their hands.....Freaking ARSONISTS!!

Suddenly, everyone stops playing Wacko-Mahjong with Nicholas as they get infected by a brain-damaging bacteria where symptoms exhibited include smiling for no reason at all.

Syimir tries his best to mask his worry as 101 people struggle to figure out how to start a fire while Qai learns that eyebrows are a cool thing

Launch of National Briskwalking Clubs 2009

Welllsss life is getting interesting as months passed by as a main comm. The reason I joined the ASC Main Committee is because I really needed a CCA and ASC is a CCA where i can give back to AS in my own little way. My life in TP has been a great experience, first of all, because of the events the previous Main Comm had organized. Secondly, because I was previously a Sub Committee Member and finally because of the great friends I have made in and out of ASC and AS.
